Littelfuse PSX series high-speed fuses provide very fast performance up to 1500VDC. They are now available from TTI Europe. The fuse is available in flat head, DIN mounting, and bolt blade styles. They are the smallest NH XL package sizes on the market and range from 80A to 1400A. The series is exceptionally fast with 200kA DC interrupt rating.
It is UL 248-13 certified and meets the EN high speed semiconductor fuse standard and the new standard of IEC 60269-7 for battery protection fuses under development.
The line offers low watt losses (energy efficiency for BESS applications). They have aR class performance according to IEC 60269-4. Low watt losses prevent energy loss, making them more efficient and minimizing wasted power from components.
The small package makes it easier to design smaller or more compact systems with high energy density. Its visual fuse fuse indication is detectable in the event of a failure, and the high interrupt rating provides an improved level of protection.
Typical application areas include battery energy storage systems, power conversion systems, DC common bus systems, industrial heaters and welding equipment, hybrid PV-BESS inverters, regeneration drivers and metal working equipment.
