Microchip announced the launch of its MPLAB Harmony Graphics Composer (MHGC), a modern and flexible GUI writer tool. MHGC is a free development tool for developing GUIs for all PIC32 microcontrollers through its Harmony Configurator and MPLAB X Integrated Development Environment (IDE). The software allows anyone to create branded content using the Harmonious Graphics Library and its custom assets, creating a GUI in a WYSIWYG design model without the need for complicated and tedious coding. "Design engineers don't need graphic designers to build professional-looking GUIs to increase brand awareness and preferences," said Rich Hoefle, marketing director of Microchip's 32-bit microcontroller division. "We believe MPLAB Harmony Graphics Composer will Users using this product have a positive business impact because every time their customers use their products, brand preferences are raised. It enables them to quickly deliver beautiful content with minimal design resources. " Composer is responsible for all configuration requirements and generates all the source code required for a professional-looking GUI. Users can easily import images and fonts and add them to their projects through MHGC's intuitive, user-friendly interface. This tool enables users to add, delete, move, scale, and configure objects within the application. Objects can be interactive, including sliders, dials, and buttons, without the developer having to know the graphics code. "The customer response was very positive," Hoefle continued. "We found feedback valuable and created a platform where we believe our customers will find it simple, professional and intuitive." MPLAB Harmony Graphics Composer has been integrated with its MPLAB X and utilizes the graphics library in MPLAB Harmony.
