U-blox was the first to release the NEO-M9V GNSS receiver. Offering positioning receivers for both UDR and ADR, the device is ideal for fleet management and micromobility applications where reliable positioning accuracy in meters is required even in harsh GNSS signalling environments such as urban canyons.

Accurate odometer data is critical to fleet managers' billing and compliance. In addition, to reduce costs and carbon footprint, fleet managers rely on accurate positioning and navigation data to reduce fuel consumption.

In order to locate vehicles on the other side of the street, micromobile operators must accurately locate their devices to service personal bikes and scooters. Can force drivers to take long detours to reach their intended destinations, incurring additional costs, reducing service quality and polluting the air. Accurate positioning is also crucial for geographic defense, and they operate in accordance with local regulations.

Using measurements from inertial sensors, UDR provides a smooth navigation experience in dense urban environments by bridging gaps in GNSS signal coverage and mitigating the effects of multipath effects caused by GNSS signals bouncing off buildings. By incorporating vehicle speed into the sensor fusion algorithm, ADR further improves the positioning accuracy in harsh environments.

It also provides optimized dynamic models for cars and electric scooters. These dynamic models further improve the quality of position reading by adjusting the algorithm of the dead-reckoning solution to suit the behavior of these situations.

The device is based on robust U-Blox M9 technology platform and M9 GNSS technology platform. It is capable of tracking up to four GNSS constellations, maximizing the number of GNSS satellites in its line of sight at any given moment. Integrated SAW and LNA filters provide excellent interference mitigation for a robust solution that speeds product design and reduces time-to-market. Compatibility with popular NEO form factors reduces customer migration efforts to upgrade current designs.

"We want customers to recognise the value of the NEO-M9V immediately. "The module is tailored for the industrial market, providing rapid time-to-market, increased design flexibility, and reliable meter-level positioning performance where it matters most -- in urban centers," said Mathias Vetter, principal product Manager, Consumer and Industrial Tracking at U-Blox.
