Toshiba European Electronics (TEE) has launched HK4, a new enterprise-class 6Gbit / s SATA solid-state drive (SSD) series specifically designed for read-intensive and value-added workloads. The HK4 series is Toshiba's first SSD for enterprise and data center applications. It can embed 15nm MLC NAND flash memory, and provides low-latency adjustment to achieve high-quality service (QoS).
The densely read HK4R series combines a capacity of up to 1.92 TB with low operating power and is suitable for enterprise applications such as web servers, file servers, media streaming, video on demand, search engines and hot data storage.
The HK4E Value Hard Drive offers three DWPD endurance levels with a maximum capacity of 1600GB, making it ideal for data center and mixed workload applications.
The HK4 series is Toshiba's first SATA SSD, with optional Trusted Computing Group (TCG) enterprise encryption support, and is also equipped with Toshiba's QSBC (Quadruple By Code Swing) error technology. This proprietary QSBC error correction technology is an efficient error correction code (ECC) that helps protect customer data from damage caused by wear and tear on NAND flash media. The company says that this improves reliability and extends the life of Toshiba solid-state drives.
